Self-willed Critters

Being intelligent and being obedient doesn’t overlap in the case of cats. They are smart – don’t doubt that for a second, but don’t expect them to play fetch with you, either. They are very independent and lack the pack mentality of dogs.
Cats can recognize their names and especially the tone of your voice – but they can choose if they want to come when you call them. They will hang out with you only when it feels right for them, no matter how you try to bribe them with treats!
