6. Fighting for Her Life
Nan had lost hope. Nobody to her knowledge had ever documented being pinned to a high-speed whale’s head. More concerning was the whale, seemingly oblivious to her presence, was swimming farther and farther away from the research vessel. Without prior knowledge of what to do in this particular situation, Nan had no choice but to let the currents, and the humpback, do their thing. Even if the humpback had no malice toward humans, it would most likely leave Nan physically and quite possibly lost at sea.
