Don Rickles

The king of insult comedy, Don Rickles was a World War II veteran. After finishing high school, Rickles enlisted in the US Navy and was stationed aboard USS Cyrene as a seaman.

He served between 1944-1946 and was honorably discharged. He went on to study he studied at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and he had a fruitful and memorable comedy career. He was active in the stand-up comedy scene up until his death in 2017.
