For sure, you should not. It is advisable to eat a light meal and wait between thirty minutes to an hour before engaging in any form of exercise, swimming included. After eating a meal, blood is diverted into our gut to make it easier for the food to digest. Swimming immediately after eating just means blood is also going to be needed for your muscles which also means the food you ate will not be fully digested and this could make you feel nauseous. Even worse, it could increase your chances of getting muscle cramps while in the pool.
